Skillet, I Must Confess That I Feel Like a Monster

Skillet - MonsterWith every record Skillet seems to grow by leaps and bounds.

You may be familiar with the hard hitting Collide album and hopefully you know about their phenomenal 2006 release, Comatose. Well they’ve been hard at work and the follow up to Comatose, aptly titled Awake is set to be release on August 25, 2009. (available for preorder now at skillet.com)

It will be extremely difficult to write a record as good as Comatose, but if the first couple tracks are any indication, they’re up to the challenge.

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch them on their current tour you have been privileged to a sneak peek of the record. They’ve been playing Hero, featuring their uber-talented drummer Jen Ledger on backing vocals, and the first single off the record, Monster, which is set on hit radio in 2 weeks.

If you haven’t caught a show on this tour, what are you waiting for?!? They put on shows that you won’t soon forget, with enough energy and intensity to leave you sore for days. So if they’re in your town soon make sure you get out there. You won’t be disappointed.

For those of you who don’t have a tour date coming up, I’ve got you covered. Check out the live video of the upcoming single Monster before it hits radio.

Skillet – Monster Video (live)

Skillet – Monster Lyrics

The secret side of me
I never let you see
I keep it caged, but I can’t control it

So stay away from me
The beast is ugly
I feel the rage and I just can’t hold it

It’s scratching at the walls
In the closet, in the halls
It comes awake and I can’t control it

I hide under the bed
In my body, in my head
Why won’t somebody come and save me from this? Make it end

I feel it deep within
It’s just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I hate what I’ve become
The nightmare’s just begun
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I…I…feel like a monster

My secret side I keep
Hid under lock and key
I keep it caged but I can’t control it

Cause if I let him out
He’ll tear me up, break me down
Why won’t somebody come and save me from this? Make it end

I feel it deep within
It’s just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I hate what I’ve become
The nightmare’s just begun
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I feel it deep within
It’s just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I…I…feel like a monster

I…I…feel like a monster

Its hiding in the dark
Its teeth are razor sharp
There’s no escape for me, it wants my soul it wants my heart

No one can hear me scream
Maybe its just a dream
Or maybe its inside of me, stop this monster

I feel it deep within
It’s just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I hate what I’ve become
The nightmare’s just begun
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I feel it deep within
It’s just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster

I…I…feel like a monster

Seether Pays Homage To 8-Bit Games Of The 80’s With The Premiere Of The Careless Whisper Music Video

Seether Careless Whisper Music VideoSeether has officially released the music video for Careless Whisper and it would have been tough to make it any more random.
They stay true to the 8-bit game genre by inserting themselves and some other recognizable characters into a pseudo Seether game.

The video is inspired by retro video games and features some “animated cameos”, see if you can guess them all!

Linkin Park Is Across This New Divide

Linkin Park - New DivideLinkin Park is back with New Divide, a new song which will be featured on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack. It is available exclusively on iTunes, but you can listen to the entire track right now at LinkinPark.com.

The song is not as heavy as some songs off their earlier albums, but stays true to the sound of the better rock tracks on Minutes to Midnight.

Checkout the New Divide trailer for a small glimpse into the making of the song.

Linkin Park – New Divide Lyrics

I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me
I remembered each flash as time began to blur
Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me
And your voice was all I heard
Did I get what I deserve?

So give me reason to prove me wrong to wash this memory clean
Let the thoughts cross the distance in your eyes
Give me reason to fill this up, connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies
Across this new divide

There was nothing inside, the memories left abandoned
There was no where to hide the ashes fell like snow
And the ground caved in between where we were standing
And your voice was all I heard
Did I get what I deserve?

So give me reason to prove me wrong to wash this memory clean
Let the thoughts cross the distance in your eyes
Across this new divide

In every loss in every lie in every truth that you deny
And each regret and each divide was some mistake too great to hide
And your voice was all I heard
Did I get what I deserve?

So give me reason to prove me wrong to wash this memory clean
Let the thoughts cross the distance in your eyes
Give me reason to fill this up, connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies
Across this new divide
Across this new divide
Across this new divide

Seether’s Guilty Feet Have Got No Rhythm

Don’t forget to checkout the music video: Seether Pays Homage To 8-Bit Games Of The 80’s With The Premiere Of The Careless Whisper Music Video

Seether - Careless Whisper

When a rock band covers a song, no matter what I think of the original song, I have got to give it a listen. Cover songs are definitely my weakness.

Seether doesn’t disappoint with their rendition of what they say is one of their faves from the 80’s, George Michael’s Careless Whisper.

It was a pleasure to record our interpretation of the song as it has been a personal favorite ever since they played the hell out of that song is South Africa during the 80’s.

You can buy it right now on iTunes, or check it out on their Myspace.

Hate My Life Video Premiere

I’m not normally big on new music videos, but I absolutely love this song and they did a great job on telling the story through the video.
